Freelancer's Declaration of Independence
In New York City, July 4, 2015
The Unanimous Declaration of the 53 million Gig Economy members of the United States of America:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all creative and talented people are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creativity with certain unalienable rights, that among them are life, liberty, and the pursuit of their passions.
That to secure these rights, gigs are instituted among curious creatives, business owners, and new entrepreneurs.
We hereby declare Occupational Independence and endeavor to permit population of this Gig Economy with awesome ideas; for that encouraging these Gigs keeps among us a multitude of new inspirations and opportunities, including but not limited to
• Being more independent
• Making our own hours
• Earning extra income
• Monetizing our passions
For enabling our community, and arming ourselves with tools to create, share and reach financial Freedom doing what we love, we find ourselves truly free; In every stage of life not just free to lance new challenges but
Free to be spirited about our life’s work
Free to say as we please, when we please
Free to love what we do
Free to create as we envision
Freedom to connect with other fearless creative comrades from around the world
We therefore, the members of the Gig Economy of the United States of America, do mutually pledge to share this Freelancer’s Declaration of Independence; we mutually pledge to each other our support of one another, including our passions and our creative honor.
